How to create a multi-step web form

Multi-step forms (or surveys) are proven to convert better than long, single-page forms. By breaking up questions into smaller bites, you reduce friction and capture more leads.

Step 1: Open the Form Builder

Navigate to Sites in the left menu, then click on Forms > Builder. Click the Add Form button to start a new blank form.

    Step 2: Add Your Fields

From the left-hand panel, drag and drop the fields you want to collect. Start with low-friction questions first (like a multiple-choice question or zip code), and save contact info (Name, Email, Phone) for the final step.

    Step 3: Insert Page Breaks

To create multiple steps, look for the Page Break element in the left-hand panel. Drag and drop it between your fields wherever you want the form to split into a new page.

Pro Tip: You can click on the Page Break element to customize the "Next" and "Previous" button text, colors, and styling for that specific transition.

    Step 4: Customize Styling

Click the Styles & Options tab on the right side. Here you can adjust the background color, borders, corner radius, and font sizes to match your brand perfectly. You can also toggle the progress bar on or off.

    Step 5: Save and Integrate

Once you are happy with the form, click Save. Click Integrate to get the embed code for your external website, or simply select the form from the dropdown when using the CastaLink Website Builder.
